Networking Evening: the Nature of Wood with Andrew Poynter

An evening of talking about wood, its huge variety, what to use, when and where. Green wood, cuts of wood, best wood for legs, best woods for outside, best for bending etcetera. Andrew started A&M Wood Specialty and over the years has developed a unique understanding of the properties of wood. He is also a very fine furniture maker.

Intersections has many interesting events, beyond our classes. Stop in for one of our Network Evenings and learn about a woodworking technique. All are welcome at these events and there are always cookies and juice.

The Puzzle Exhibition from the collection of George Hart

For the month of October there will be an exhibition of wood puzzles. Some have been devised by the mathematician George Hart and others are from around the world. Each one is a mental tease. Some are doable if you are curious and others are ready to blow your mind. George will be giving a puzzle studio class in the future. Let us know if you are interested.
