What's coming up in November 2023!

As fall colours fade and temperature drops, activity at Intersections is warming up. With many special events on the horizon, along with our regular workshops and open hours, woodworking at Intersections is late fall's perfect craft. Read on to find out how you can join us this November, starting Wednesday with the general opening of an exclusive Art Sale, and continuing this Friday, November 3 with our fall open house and raffle draw!

Special Event: Prize Draw and Open House November 3

Our raffle must come to an end, but we shall do it in community!

On November 3 from 6:45 to 8:00 pm, we invite all Intersections Members and Supporters to join us as we select the winners of our raffle prizes. At the same time, enjoy the opportunity to socialize with light snacks, browse and purchase from our Art Sale (see below), view our newest equipment, and learn more about our upcoming events.

Very last call for raffle tickets! We have fewer than 50 tickets left. Thank you to everyone who has purchased a ticket so far and GOOD LUCK! Remaining tickets can be purchased until they run out by sending your etransfer for 1 or more tickets to info@intersectionsos.org (password: tickets) and we will send you a photo of your ticket stub completely filled out with your information (we need your name and phone number).

A reminder of the prizes...
- First prize - a beautiful Nymph canoe made at Intersections
- Second prize - a large handmade turned salad bowl by Adam Cottrill
- Third prize - a 2 day class at Intersections Wood Collaborative.

Fall Art Sale

We are honoured to share that Stephen Hogbin’s family has generously donated about 30 pieces of wall art from his personal collection – about 80% were created by Stephen. The pieces are priced from $50 to $750 with 100% of the funds going to IntersectionsThe art will be available beginning Wednesday, November 1 when sales will open to the general public. If you are a member, check your email for details about early-bird access. Art can be viewed this Friday evening at our open house, or during open hours Tuesday - Thursday. No holds, and payment due on pick up by cash, cheque or e-transfer.

November Workshops!

On November 1, Fundamentals of Woodworking 2: The Chair with Pierre Rousseau gets started on a 10 week journey to build the perfect chair. Please email info@intersectionsos.org as soon as possible if you are interested in joining this sought after workshop. Pierre's other November Course to build a Custom Lidded Chest is now full.

Two complementary turning wood turning workshops round out our November calendar with a look ahead to the holidays. Carl Durance will lead Introduction to Ornaments and also Advanced Ornaments with Finials. More information on these and all our upcoming courses are on our website at intersectionsstudio.com

Mark Your Calendars - Welbeck Sawmill Artisan Market on December 2, 2023

Many Intersections members and supporters will be pleased to learn that Welbeck Sawmill will be hosting an Christmas Artisan Market on December 2 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Intersections will have a presence there, featuring our workshops and recent creations from our woodshop. There will be sales, artisans, live music and more. Upcoming Special Event: Women in Woodworking Showcase

Intersections is thrilled to announce a pop up event at our studio featuring local women woodworkers and woodturners showcasing their work. We are humbled by the talent in our community and it is our privilege to bring together these craftswomen at Intersections. On Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, please plan to stop by Intersections to meet and view the work of some of our region's finest woodworkers and turners. Internationally-renowned woodturner Marilyn Campbell will give a presentation at 2:00 pm. Not to be missed!

Open Hours for Members

Open hours continue for members of Intersections. Many thanks for the dedicated volunteers that help open our studio so for members to use and for community members to drop in and learn more about our work.

Our current open hours are Tuesday - Thursday 10 am - 3 pm.
